How to Get Your Boyfriend to Wear Lolita With You!

Are you curious to see how your boyfriend would look in lolita and long to dress him up? 

Based on my own experiences wearing lolita with Phanty, I can tell you that loli-ing together is an EXCELLENT way to bond with your sweetheart! ^.^

Here are some tips to help you convince him to don the petti and enjoy the experience!

1. Help him put his first coord together!

First and foremost, make CERTAIN that everything you want him to wear will fit him!!! He’s obviously not going to enjoy wearing lolita if it’s not physically comfortable, so look online for plus-size-friendly items (mainstream goth-shops are a great place to look too!)

2. If he can't be convinced to wear a dress, make him an Ouji or Aristocrat instead!

Let’s face it: every man likes to feel like a sir every now and then, and a top-hat and tails might be just enough to tempt him into wearing Lolita with you! Get him a bobbed wig, some (well-fitting) knickerbockers, knee-socks, lacy blouses, cravats and even a cane for maximum masculine cuteness!!!

3. Make him look his absolute best!

This is the fun part! ^.^ Your bf might feel more comfortable going out in lolita if he is unrecognisable, so make sure you really help doll him up to perfection!

Get your bf to pluck his facial-hair before shaving it for a smoother look, and have him shave his legs thoroughly if he’ll be showing any leg (and arm-hair too, if it’s on the thick side!) If either of you choose not to have his eyebrows plucked as well, have him wear a wig with a fringe to hide his bushy eyebrows! If you do his makeup just right, no-one needn’t even know he’s a guy!

4. Dealing with embarrassment

When you go out together in lolita, make sure you stay by his side and support him. Let him know beforehand that ALL lolitas face street-harassment no matter what gender they identify with. A well-dressed brolita shouldn’t be easily recognised as a male by random strangers, so most of the time, any attention he encounters should be on the crazy clothes themselves rather than the fact that a guy is wearing them.

However, If your bf really does NOT feel comfortable being seen wearing lolita out in public even with you by his side, don't force him. Think back to the very first time you went out in lolita! Stay at home and make it a private little event for just the two of you! Just have fun dressing up, doing his nails and teaching him how to walk in heels. Have a little photo-shoot in the house and backyard together! You can also break out the good china and have fancy little tea-party for two or a beautiful little candle-lit dinner in lolita. ^.^

5. Respect his wishes!

Don’t publicly post pictures of him in lolita on social media if he doesn’t want you to. Keep them in a private folder for just you and him to look at, or block certain people from being able to view them online. And if he makes you swear to keep it a secret between just the two of you, please respect his wishes!
